TRAFFIC ALERT - Intersection Improvements Will Require the Closure of US 9/East Market Street

Traffic Information: As part of the Georgetown East Gateway Improvements Project, DelDOT announces to motorists that US 9/East Market Street/Lewes-Georgetown will be closed for intersection improvements. These improvements will consist of the following: the realignment of Sand Hill Road and Airport Road to intersect with US 9/East Market Street/ Lewes-Georgetown Highway at an improved angle.
Times and Dates: 6 AM on Saturday, May 1 until 10 PM on Friday, May 21, pending weather.
Location: US 9/East Market Street/Lewes-Georgetown Highway between Sand Hill Road and Rogers Avenue, Georgetown.
Detour Routes:
Eastbound: Motorists will take US 9 to Sand Hill Road to Gravel Hill Road and return to US 9.
Westbound: Motorists will take US 9 to Park Avenue to South Bedford Street and return to US 9.
Motorists may use either of these routes in any direction depending on their desired destination.
