Delaware's Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) guarantees citizens access to government meetings and public records. As a public body, the Town of Georgetown is bound by the FOIA requirements set forth in 29 Del. C. Chapter 100.

Most requests for information are routine and do not require a formal FOIA submission. Please review our website first to see if the information is already posted online, or contact Town Hall (302-856-7391) to determine whether the information is readily available.

For more complex or detailed queries, a formal FOIA request can be submitted to the Town of Georgetown by completing the fillable PDF version of the FOIA Request form. Once downloaded, complete, print and:

The Town of Georgetown takes very seriously the public's right to know, and has taken numerous steps in recent years to ensure improved public access by posting to the Town web site important information such as government agendas, minutes, budgets and other records.

Citizens requiring information not found on the Town web site can submit their request to the Town's designated FOIA coordinator who is charged with directing the request to the department or office that has custody of the records in question.
