Lieutenant John Tyndall has been employed as a Georgetown Police Officer since January of 2003.
Lt. Tyndall has held the position of Patrol Supervisor, K-9 Handler, Criminal Detective, DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration Task Force) and is currently the senior patrol supervisor. Lt Tyndall is a member of the department’s Emergency Response Team and serves as a team leader. Lt Tyndall also has a variety of other duties, such as the training coordinator, lead firearms instructor, and other vast administration duties, along with supervising a patrol shift.
Prior to coming to the Georgetown Police Department, Lt. Tyndall was employed by the Laurel Police Department for approximately 4 1/2 years. Lt. Tyndall was assigned to the K-9 Unit in Laurel and was awarded the Police Officer of the Year in 2001.
